Christmas brunch this morning

My friends have developed a bit of a ritual of going for brunch on the weekends over in Yaletown--I drag my ass out there whenever I'm up early enough and go join them. It only seemed fitting to go have a final pre-Christmas brunch with Tall Scott and Parveen (sadly Scott H. headed out to the Okanagan yesterday, so he couldn't make it), and since my parents are in town, I risked it and brought them along too!

We were going to go to a more shmancy place, but it was packed so we ended up at our usual place, which was kinda fitting. Had brunch, chatted, and exchanged our Christmas presents before the boys head out to the burbs to hang with their families for the next few days...

Tall Scott, Scott H., and Mark and Deb got me a fantastic new 50mm lens for my camera, which I wasn't expecting at all and is totally rad (as you can see I was testing it out at brunch)--now I'm gonna drive them crazy taking tons of pictures, mwahaha! And Tall Scott also got us movie passes so we can all go out to a movie together.

And Parveen got me two tickets to the Feist and Ron Sexsmith concert in February. So great, cause I was nearly going to buy tickets for it--of course I'm going to take Parv with me, since it's on Feb. 12th, I figure he can be my defacto Valentine's date.

Thanks boys for the rad presents and for everything--I love you to bits!

Miss604 Blogiversary Contest

Okay, so I work well under time pressure...Tomorrow's the last day to enter Miss604's Blogiversary Contest, so here's my under-the-wire entry:

Miss604 aka. Rebecca is a gal I know through what I generally refer to as "geekery", ie. blogging, tech, Drupal stuff--oddly although I've been at a ton of events over the last 8 months or so that I've seen her at, it was only over the last few months (now that I'm fully addicted to my Google Reader) that I've been reading her super-great blog steadily, and more surprisingly it's only at the last couple events that happened this past week that I finally properly introduced myself and chatted with her. She's a lovely gal, to no surprise, and not only does she write a superb blog about Vancouver among other things, but she also likes to use her superhero blogging powers for good.

In this instance, that means running a contest with the support of
Mount Seymour and the Vancouver Giants that benefits the Vancouver Food Bank, which is supercool, as the Food Bank is a great organization--everyone knows how cranky and icky I can get when I don't eat enough, and a lot of people have to deal with that every day, so it's a cause I've always felt great supporting. If you want to send some support their way, make sure to visit the Food Bank's donation page!

If you're a blogger and want to enter to win Giants tickets and passes to Mount Seymour, and help support the Food Bank, make sure to go enter the contest TODAY!

Thanks to Rebecca, the Giants, and Mount Seymour for helping the Food Bank out, you all rock!
